Programming and design of facilities for the Rescue Company with harbour, pool with canal, outdoor activity area, boathouse, operational buildings and course and conference center with detailed regulations, design of outdoor facilities, buildings with interiors. The Norwegian building tradition in wood, both on land and at sea, is the source of inspiration for the design of the buildings. The boat hull, the boathouse, the Viking hove and the burial mounds have been the starting point for the design and the choice of materials. The facility is located in a special area of cultural history, with, among other things, the Borrehaugene and many archaeological finds from the Viking Age and earlier.
The layout with the conical shapes with the glass walls facing the sea and the organization of the buildings around the pool and the canal, was generated with inspiration from the lighthouses' sector division. This both to look out over, and to seem far out to sea. For the Rescue Company, it is important to be visible from the sea with a distinctive appearance. Many visitors will come to the facility by sea. The buildings are built in solid wood as a supporting structure.
Each hotel room is decorated inspired by a unique theme, here «Redningsskøyta».
